There’s nothing quite like taking a warm and fluffy towel out of the dryer. In fact, we’ve heard from many customers that the smell of clothes coming out of the dryer is one of their all-time favorite scents!
When your dryer breaks down, you don’t just miss the fresh scent, you miss the convenience of having your clothes dry when you need them. Have you noticed a sudden spike in your energy bill? It could be that your dryer is working, but not efficiently. If clothes are still a bit damp after a full dry cycle, your dryer is experiencing an issue.
Whether you have a gas dryer or electric dryer, Lee’s Appliance and Refrigeration Service can diagnose the problem and get it fixed. Call 256-517-9898 or schedule an appointment online today.
Common Dryer Issues We Fix
If you are noticing any of the following, you’ll want to have one of our technicians come out and see what the problem is:
Your dryer isn’t running.
Did you check to make sure it’s plugged in? I know, this seems obvious, but often people assume their appliance is plugged in but the cord has come loose. If the unit is plugged in, give your circuit board a look to see if the breaker has gone off.
If that’s not the issue, then you may be looking at a bad thermostat, damaged terminal block or broken start switch. We can have these issues fixed in no time.
Your dryer runs but doesn’t produce heat.
Is the drum inside your dryer turning but no heat is being produced? This could be one of a few things: a bad fuse, thermostat, temperature switch or heating coils. Again, we’ve done these repairs numerous times over the past 60 years, so you can trust we’ll get you up and running fast.
The drum doesn't spin.
If you can hear the motor running but the drum is not turning inside your dryer, then you’re most likely looking at a broken belt. Our technicians will diagnose to see if that is the problem, or if it’s something else like a bad roller, motor, or idler pulley.
Your dryer gets too hot.
Have you ever pulled your clothes out of the dryer after the buzzer goes off and you feel as if you burned your hand under hot water? A dryer that gets too hot is a potentially dangerous situation and needs immediate attention. Our technicians will check to see if you have a bad thermostat, clogged vents, or faulty heating coils.
